Description
New Zealand’s lead agency responsible for reducing crime and enhancing community safety has issued an RFP seeking a supply of ballistic helmets used by Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) and Special Tactics Group (STG) members.
This full replacement programme will be for about 350 ballistic helmets and be phased in over a 3 year delivery period.
Mandatory requirements of the ballistic helmet system include the following:
• Have full ballistic protection capability of a minimum National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Level IIIA and must stipulate what standard it was tested against.
• Be available in the colour ‘black’.
• Be available in a range of shell sizes
• Be able to commence delivery of the first tranche of helmets on or before 1 December 2016.
RFP closes midday NZ time 24 June 16.
