Statistics Canada's Consumer Prices Division (CPD) is seeking new and used vehicle data to use in the production of the CPI for the new and used vehicle price indexes of the CPI, and for use in the Quarterly Income and Expenditure Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the Provincial and Territorial Economic Accounts by National Economic Accounts Division (NEAD). The data will provide timely and detailed information on vehicle prices and characteristics at the VIN level. This acquisition will also minimize manual internet price collection, resulting in reduced costs, and will streamline the creation of annual automobile weights.
