Description
The aim of this RFI is to find through collaboration future capabilities related to NexGen M&S with a focus on:
- related systems
- products
- services
- technology
- methodologies
- engineering practices
NexGen M&S aims to provide a persistent, flexible, and efficient M&S capability that leverages the entirety of the Alliance.
It will support several application areas including but not limited to:
- assisted decision-making
- defence planning
- strategic and operational planning
- mission rehearsal
- education and training
- strategic studies
- procurement
- capability development
- concept develop and experimentation
- lessons learned
- innovation
This RFI is for both materiel and non-materiel solutions. It includes combinations across the doctrine, organisation, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPFI) spectrum that contribute to NexGen programme requirements.
These can include but are not limited to:
- systems, products, services, applications (and their functionality), facilities, infrastructure, or data
- methodologies, engineering practices, doctrine, procedures, organisational framework, or operations support
- technologies and technical standards
The NexGen M&S can involve a combination of new, reused, and modified components.
You can be interested in one or several requirement areas and potential components.
You will need to provide:
- an overview of your capabilities and any technical documentation, such as architecture, diagrams, or system specifications
- the operational context of how your capability is used (like employment scenarios, use cases, vignettes, or procedures)
- the types of users, personnel, and organisational framework required to operate the capability and any required skills and training
- your capabilities’ major relationships, dependencies, and interfaces with other relevant systems and data
In addition, you will need to explain how your capabilities:
- are adaptable to NATO business processes
- have been or could be used in NATO and/or multi-national environments that involve modelling and simulation systems and data
- have been previously integrated with a NATO environment, exercise, or event and any relevant standards or sharing agreements
- enable collaboration between M&S and operational communities
- support collaborative exercise planning
- represent operational environments. Please describe how your capabilities represent the effects of kinetic and non- kinetic actions
- represent the operational environment across political, military, economic, social, information, infrastructure (PMESII) categories
- support a full range of visualisations of the operational environment and M&S effects
- enable the ability to import, select, retain, and classify data
- develop and prepare data for simulation use
- enable the ability to build, modify, share, and save for reuse, scenario parameters
- can collect and provide analysis of simulation results
- can enable interoperability between national and NATO systems
- can expedite the time, cost, and effort to plan, design, develop, integrate, test, and execution simulations
- accommodate extensibility, modification, and rapid integration with other systems and data sources
- accommodate 24/7 availability to local and distributed users
