Canada - Mountain Pine Beetle (IBM) Detailed Heli Survey – Yahk Area

Description

The Ministry of Forests wishes to setup the IBM Detailed Heli Survey – Yahk area contract to meet the objectives of managing mountain pine beetle populations to reduce current and future tree mortality and timber losses, to verify the presence and severity of mountain pine beetle infestation, to determine the boundary and size of infestations, to assess damage and risks to remaining stands, to assess access, operability and integrated resource management issues, to mark and tally infested trees, and to provide treatments recommendations. The goal of the contract is to identify and then in subsequent contracts  prevent the spread of insects to adjacent healthy susceptible pine trees by disposing of bark beetle infested trees.
