Description
Measure number: 15251 E 0005
Title of the measure:
LMU Klinikum - Munich - Concentration of the clinical uses remaining at the inner city site in the existing space on the Ziemssen site - general refurbishment of the Ziemssen building
Contract number: \/
Contract award number: 24 D 0182
A modern, efficient and economical clinic structure is to be created in the course of a general reorganization of the clinic uses of the LMU Klinikum München in Großhadern and the inner city. The inner city campus is affected by the abandonment of buildings, new buildings and extensive restructuring. The Ziemssenbau, which is connected to the Klinikum Innenstadt via two buildings and is the subject of this construction project, contains additional medical uses and general patient care and administration facilities, both now and in the future.
The Ziemssenbau is registered as an individual monument in the list of monuments and is essentially a classicist building from the period 1809 to 1813, created by the conversion and extension of a monastery complex from 1751 to 1754. This first "general hospital" in the city of Munich underwent extensive renovation in the years 1896 to 1902.
between 1896 and 1902, which led to its present form. War damage and a large number of conversions after 1945 led to considerable changes to the historic building fabric.
The building, with external dimensions of 100 by 66 meters and two almost square inner courtyards, consists of three full storeys (four on Ziemssenstrasse), a converted attic storey and only a small amount of basement space. The basic structure with six stairwells and corridors arranged primarily along the inner courtyards is clearly organized.
The masonry construction, with walls over 90 cm thick in places, contains predominantly steel girder ceilings with concrete infill dating from around 1900 as well as wooden beam ceilings. The foundations are made of masonry. Except for one section, the wooden roof trusses date from the time of reconstruction.
The room program for the target building comprises 10,645 m² NUF 1-7. It is planned to renovate all floors and rooms of the building for further use in two construction phases plus preliminary measures and preparatory construction measures. In addition, new construction areas such as the underground technical building south, the complete basement of the two inner courtyards, the construction of the ground-floor casino in the inner courtyard west and the new construction of the entire roof are planned.
