MicroBubbles GmbH, based in Leipzig, is a subsidiary of SprinD GmbH - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen (SPRIND). Its aim is to research innovative and effective technologies and plant engineering for the elimination of microplastics and micropollutants from flowing waters, oceans, surface waters, wastewater and other liquids. Microscopically fine homogeneous gas bubbles are to be used for this purpose. Within the scope of the project, MicroBubbles GmbH intends to award a contract for the construction of a laboratory facility for microplastic removal using the gas bubble matrix process.

Microscopically fine homogeneous gas bubbles are to be used for this purpose. Within the scope of the project, MicroBubbles GmbH intends to award a contract for the construction of a laboratory plant for the removal of microplastics by means of a gas bubble matrix process.This functional tender includes the construction of a test plant for the elimination of suspended matter/microplastics from surface water. The test plant is to be used to investigate the physico-chemical fundamentals of the removal of microplastics and other suspended matter from surface water using microscopically fine gas bubbles.The scope of services includes(1) the planning and construction of a pilot plant for the elimination of suspended solids/microplastics from surface water,(2) the supply and installation of the pilot plant,(3) the commissioning of the plant,(4) maintenance work during the operation of the plant including the supply of spare and wear parts,(5) support during the operation of the pilot plant and(6) the dismantling and disposal of the plant after the end of the operation of the pilot plant.The plant is expected to be installed at a wastewater treatment plant in the Paderborn area (North Rhine-Westphalia). The plant must be suitable for installation in an open area. The structural requirements (e.g. base plate, foundations) will be provided by the client (AG). Optionally, a container solution or the accommodation of the test facility in a building must also be possible. The plant must be transportable (in a standard ISO 40 feet container) and suitable for outdoor installation and operation. Furthermore, the facility shall be mounted on a rack in an extendable manner.For more details on the technical specification of the laboratory facility, please refer to Appendix 1 - Terms of Reference-Conditions of Execution dated 07.10.2021.
