The Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU), intends to secure services for fuels reduction and healthy forest restoration treatments in the Wildland Urban Interface in order to sufficiently affect a reduction in potential fire behavior and promote the health and resiliency of the forest and community around South Lake Tahoe, CA. A combination of Saw log and biomass removal, mastication, chipping and lopping and scattering and grapple or hand piling will occur within 290 acres with removal of approximately 5452 CCFG of saw timber and 7000 tons of fuels will be removed as Biomass. LTBMU intends to award one Firm Fixed Price Contract's for this IRSC.
The Contractor shall provide everything--including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision--necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government.
Location: The project is located on National Forest Lands in the WUI defense and threat zones in proximity to the south shore community of South Lake Tahoe, CA. The treatment areas directly tie in with other fuels treatments on the California Conservancy, State Park and Fire protection managed lands.
Accessibility: Work site access instruction as given here is for information only. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the most suitable route to the project area. The Government will not provide special maintenance nor snow plowing to open roads or keep roads open.
The request for quotes will be uploaded when ready, approximately 05/07/2019. The date of award is expected to be within 30 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and possibly changed in one or more amendments.
