This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for quote (RFQ) and it does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Request for a solicitation will not receive a response. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research purposes; to make the appropriate acquisition decisions; and to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their Small Business Administration (SBA) size classification in relation to North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811211 Consumer Electronic Repair and Maintenance.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 22 is seeking sources to provide the following professional services at the VA San Diego Healthcare System Aspire Center:

UPS Power Batteries And Power System Preventative Maintenance

This contract is for the replacement of 252 UPS batteries and the semi-annual maintenance of the server room UPS power system at the VA San Diego Aspire Center. The UPS batteries are past their life expectancy and need to be replaced before they fail. The semi-annual service is for the preventative maintenance of the power system.

Major Duties and tasks include, but are not limited to:

Secure line power to the UPS system.

Remove existing batteries.

Install new batteries.

Connect new batteries to power system.

Return line power to UPS system.

Perform system check.

Return to service.

UPS Batteries And Power System Preventative Maintenance duties include, but are not limited to:

Test and record line/load voltages and amperages.

Re-torque all electrical connections.

Perform safety shutdown function test.

Exercise all circuit breakers.

Inspect all AC & DC electronics for damage.

Calibrate metering.

Check and record each battery voltage, impedance, and general condition.

Provide VA COR with a detailed maintenance report.
