Description

The object of the EVB-IT system supply contract is the delivery* of the system described below, including the provision of operational readiness* by the contractor, on the basis of a purchase contract and, if agreed below, the system service. Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG (KVB AG) today operates a networked telecommunications system network of the manufacturer Unify at several locations in Cologne. In the course of the tender, KVB AG is pursuing the goal of centralizing the existing, networked plant network. For this purpose, the system must be upgraded to Unify's latest software version at the time of the order. The required virtualization platform for the two data centers will be provided by the client (AG). The redesign of the telecommunications platform on the basis of the "installed base" Unify used today should include the following objectives:- implementation or renewal to a central, innovative and scalable system network, - as far as possible adoption or inclusion of the currently available solutions and applications, - provision of added value in the Unified Collaboration environment Sufficient bandwidth is provided via the available data network for voice and signalling data so that calls can be made via this connection. In summary, KVB aims to achieve the following improvements:- conversion of the decentralised system into a central VoIP system,- creation of redundancies in the data centre, - upgrade of the system software to the latest version, - upgrade of all application software to the latest software version, - centralisation of the applications used with central licence management, - conversion of the digital extensions to modern VoIP technology (where necessary).
