Description
Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) is a modern service company that meets the challenges of the future with innovative strategies. The network density and quality of Berlin's local public transport is at a high level by international comparison, and even reaches a top position with the recently introduced continuous underground night service. Our customers benefit from our many years of experience as the largest municipal transport company in Germany. Around 14,600 employees make sure that Berliners and their guests stay on the move: with the underground, bus and tram as well as our ferries, BVG users can choose from a wide range of services. During rush hour, BVG brings hundreds of thousands of Berliners to work and back home. Tourists can explore the city with our lines and night owls can get home safely with our 24-hour service. In 2017, BVG set a record of 1,064 million passengers, or more than 2.9 million trips per day. BVG operates two apps, FahrInfo-App and Ticket-App, which passengers can use to purchase tickets: The "FahrInfo" app offers smartphone users with the Android and iOS (Apple) operating systems both timetable information functions and integrated ticket purchasing. The mobile phone can thus be used as a ticket and provides information about connections taking into account the current traffic situation, including a live navigation function. Locations of available MSPs, such as car sharing vehicles, bike and scooter sharing, but also e-scooters, will in future be calculated and displayed as a mobility comparison (multimodal and intermodal) as a comparison to public transport routing, and displayed on an interactive environment view (map). When selected, these will be forwarded via DeepLink to the Jelbi app to be reserved and booked there.Google Play Store (Android)https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.eos.uptrade.android.fahrinfo.berlin&hl=deApple App Store (iOS)https://apps.apple.com/de/app/bvg-fahrinfo-plus-berlin/id284971745Die "Ticket-App" - also available for Android and iOS - offers the comfort of buying a ticket for bus and train with only 3 clicks. Reduced to pure sales, tickets can also be purchased cashlessly in seconds - no matter whether a monthly pass, short trip, single ticket, 4-trip card, day ticket, bicycle ticket or tourist offers.Google Play Store (Android)https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.bvg.ticket&hl=deApple App Store (iOS)https://apps.apple.com/de/app/bvg-tickets-berlin/id1232772818Derzeit two different backend systems are operated for the ticket shops. In the future, BVG wants to use only one central ticketing backend system to reduce the effort for maintenance and operation, but also for all customer and support processes. Furthermore, the costs and resources required for the development of new features or general enhancements and integration into the BVG system landscape should be kept as low as possible. The front-end components, especially the smartphone apps, are not an integral part of this tender. The implementation and further development of these components will be outsourced separately from the back-end system in future.
