Description
The interior designer (here called "library planner") is to take over the technical planning of both the public library and the design and furnishing of the other multifunctional areas of the public library. For the furnishing of the administrative offices, existing furniture and supply contracts will be used to a large extent, so that recommendations are only to be made here with regard to any new arrangements in the area.the "library planner" is to provide the interior design service and integrate it into the overall planning, taking into account the specifications of the project group already existing at the City of Lünen and the architectural design for the property as well as the other specialist planning. In addition to the classic areas of media lending and presentation, the new public library is to be given priority in the functions of residence and meeting (library as a third location), learning and trying things out (library as a place of lifelong learning), and events (library as a place of cultural education). A conflict-free operation of the entire public needs facility is to be ensured, both with the functionality of the library in the sense of a third place and the multifunctional use of other rooms (meeting place for activities and events). It is assumed that the library has 50 000 media units, with a storage area (storage space in the basement) of approx. 75 sqm.
