Description

According to the plans of the Italian architect Gaetano Chiaveri, the Cathedral of Ss. Trinitatis was built as the Catholic Court Church for the Saxon electors and kings of Poland between 1739 and 1755. It is considered an outstanding example of Roman Baroque in Germany. The interior of the church is also of great importance. Thus, the main altarpiece and the paintings of several side altars as well as the pulpit in the nave are by important artists of the 18th century.
