Description
The new building will replace the community school hall in the Kirchheim district, which completely burnt out in March 2021.
The new sports hall will be built on the site of the previous hall and will therefore not take up any new space. The building is planned as a timber hybrid construction: above ground, the hall will be built in timber, while the basement and its surfaces in contact with the ground as well as the basement ceiling will be constructed in reinforced concrete. The hall will be heated with an air heat pump. The roof will be fitted with a photovoltaic system. Overall, aspects of sustainable construction were of particular importance in the design of the new sports hall.
