Description

Notice is hereby given that the Province of British Columbia, as represented by the Ministry of Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Ecofish Research (the “Supplier”). The high-level details of the contemplated contract are generally described below. The primary objective of this Project is to continue the detailed review and re-organization of 33 years of fish and fish habitat data with improved R code initiated in 2022-2023 and based partly on a previous contract project “Carnation Creek – Long-term Fish Population Trends” (Sparling and Hocking 2015) conducted by Ecofish Research Ltd. for the contract manager, Peter Tschaplinski, Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship.  This work is related to an analysis of multi-decade trends in fish population and physical data from Carnation Creek, British Columbia. The initial reassembly work will be continued to completion for all project years to better understand relationships between forest harvest history over time in Carnation Creek and long-term trends in resident and anadromous salmon abundance (spawners, smolts, and fry). Specifics: Review, identify and re-assemble the raw data files from Carnation Creek Watershed Project used previously for the annual analysis of adult and juvenile populations (1992 – 2014), add data collected from 2015 to 2023, and prepare the data for future multiyear trends analysis. This includes data prior to 2011 previously assembled by Ecofish Research Ltd. Identify and assemble files of manually collected supplementary data such as weather data, water depths, and temperatures over the same period. Identify how information was previously summarized to perform analysis of status and trends by R, including any past R code. Assemble the multiyear raw data in an R friendly format, revised as necessary to use and facilitate future analyses through a consistent data structure.
