Germany - Ern. EÜ Hartkirchweg and EÜ Kalkackerweg

Description

The 2 bundled replacement structures (EÜ) are located in the city of Freiburg im Breisgau on the double-track, electrified line 4312, which bypasses Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf in the west. The line was built around 1905 for freight traffic and also connects Freiburg (Breisgau) Gbf to the network. The 2 replacement structures cross the streets Kalkackerweg and Hartkirchweg.
The Kalkackerweg railroad overpass crosses the Kalkackerweg road at km 9.078 and the Hartkirchweg level crossing crosses the Hartkirchweg road at km 9.200.
The route runs through the city center on a railroad embankment with noise barriers on both sides and is located in a densely populated area.
Due to technical obsolescence, the 2 level crossings will be completely renewed.
The new level crossings will be constructed as reinforced concrete half-frames with track-parallel wings on flat foundations at the same time and will be inserted at the same time during a track possession break, including new noise barriers.
Towards the roads, new retaining walls will be built as prefabricated elements and connected to the new bridges.
