This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce Strategic Systems Programs Headquarter's intent to solicit, negotiate, and award a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Level-of-Effort type contract and subsequent modifications on a sole-source basis to the small business concern: Battelle Memorial Institute (Cage: 79986) located at 505 King Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201-2696.
The requirement is to provide mechanical engineering services emphasizing in aerospace design and sustainment including but not limited to, stress analysis and fracture mechanics; modeling and simulation; materials characterization; materials technology, mechanical design, structural dynamics and controls; analysis and synthesis of structures, failure analysis, analytical and experimental evaluation of the strength of materials, and probabilistic methods for design analysis and reliability, as applied to basic and advanced engineering structures.
The anticipated period of performance is from 01 October 2019 through 30 September 2024 (inclusive of all option periods). The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541330 and the size standard is $15.0M.
This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government intends to negotiate solely with Battelle Memorial Institute under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
