Description
Prince George Business Area is responsible for Forest Service Road access to Timber Sale Licenses. This contract will assist with BCTS meeting that goal. This standard term contract will provide bridge installation services to cross an unnamed fish bearing stream in the Anzac watershed, which is a fishery sensitive watershed.All work is located on the CHAN 3000 FSR, bridge site G1-185(54°51'34.66"N, 122°28'35.05"W). The CHAN 3000 is a branch of the Chuchinka-Anzac FSR, which is two-wheel drive access. Site G1-185 located approximately 100m up the CHAN 3000 and is currently four-wheel accessible.One bridge installation of a 21.336m all steel structure as per the general arrangement drawing, including signage grass seeding and approaches.Instream works and crossings must be done within the fish window (July 15th – August 15th). Brush clearing at the bridge site should done outside of the breeding window May (15th – July 25th), unless a survey shows no bird nests are present (refer to EMP). Crossings should be kept to a minimum and construction should follow the guidance from the environmental management plan, as discussed at the pre-construction meeting.Questions & AnswersAll contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.PrinceGeorgeTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
