Description

The proposed contract is for the supply and installation of metal materials for the repair to the steel portion of 33 bridge structures.There are 29 structures located at the Windy Point bridge yard at 1.5km on the Finlay FSR, 2 of these structures will be required to be transported to a shop environment for repairs. BCTS will be responsible for the delivery and return of the structures to the Windy Point Yard. The other 4 structures are located in the Prince George district compound.Bridges must be repaired by priority as listed in Appendix I - Repair SummaryFabricators must be certified for Division 1 or 2 of CSA Standard W47.1- Certification of companies for fusion welding of steel structures. ***The bidder MUST provide proof of CSA certification with the bid submission.***Mobilization of workers and equipment required for the repairs is to be included in the bidders per unit bridge price.Questions & AnswersAll contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.PrinceGeorgeTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca.  Deadline for receiving questions is 4:30 pm on May 23, 2023.  If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by May 25, 2023.Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package.The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
