The Federal Bureau of Prisons is conducting market research in compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 10. The service will encompass the provision Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-Paramedic) located at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Big Spring, Big Spring, Texas . These services will be performed in the Health Services Department for the prisoners held in the custody of the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. SOLICITATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THIS NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. The requirement for these services will consist of an estimated 4,160 sessions per year (2,080 sessions per EMT-Paramedic - 40 hours per week). Each session is defined as one (1) hour in length. It is anticipated the services will be required Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Normal work hours are between 6:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. A mutually agreed upon schedule between the contractor and the Bureau of Prisons will be determined following award of a contract. The performance period will be for a base year, being 12 months from the estimated date of award and four 12 month option periods with an option of a 6 month extension period. A Government solicitation document to provide these services is being developed, and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement.
