Description
Development, production and assembly of the extension of a liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling circuit including testing and commissioning.
Development, production and assembly of the extension of a liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling circuit incl. testing and commissioning.available on site:The W7-X experiment is equipped with 10 cryogenic vacuum pumps (CVP) in the plasma vessel.- Operating mode 1 - cooling with subcooled nitrogen mass flow: 0-700 g/s (controlled)Heat load for evaporator 12 kW;- Operating mode 2 - cooling via evaporation (2-phase cooling)Nitrogen enters the shield panels at approx. 80 K and is evaporated there. The aim is to achieve an operating mode with a steam content of 90% at the outlet mass flow: 0-70 g/s (controlled)Heat load for evaporator 12 kW.In order to realise both operating modes, the associated cooling circuit is to be extended with the following components:- a vacuum-insulated valve box (PVB) serves to control the cooling circuits as well as to switch between the operating modes (two-phase or subcooled) and contains the LN2 pump;- a vacuum-insulated subcooler box (UKB) in which the CVP flow is subcooled in a nitrogen bath;- a vacuum-insulated multiple line (MTL, DN250) allows the transfer of the cryogenic media between the cold box (CBX) and the LN2 circuit extension;- three vacuum super insulated jumper lines between PVB and UKB;- one vacuum super insulated LN2 supply line, connects the LN2 circuit extension and the LN2 tank;- two vacuum super insulated N2 relief lines, for the disposal of the N2 gas;- an instrument rack to accommodate the evaluation units of the sensor system;- a blow-off line for the safety valves;- a switch cabinet and associated control system.
