WITH REGARD TO PUBLIC TENDERS
By this notice, the Commission scolaire de Montréal (CSDM) is soliciting bids for the following call for tenders:
P ROJECT
Title: Rehabilitation of courtyards, parking and soil rehabilitation
Tender number: 25-2730P
Type of work: Construction work
Work area: ± 1760 square metres
Building: Louis-Hippolyte-Lafontaine School - 4245 Berri Street, Montreal, H2J 2P9
Site visit: June 18, 2019 at 11am.
Visiting the site is not a condition of eligibility of a bid and therefore does not result in its rejection. However, it is strongly recommended that prior to preparing a bid, the bidder visit the indicated locations to familiarize himself with anything that could affect the services to be performed in any way. No claim due to ignorance of the general and local conditions will be recognized by the CSDM. The bidder may not claim any compensation for travel expenses incurred.
Period / Time frame for completion: All required and requested site work must be completed within the following schedule;
2019 - NORTH AND CENTRAL COURTYARD:
1. Start of work - July 11, 2019
2. The exit of the north courtyard must comply with the CCQ - August 22, 2019
3. North courtyard surfaces must be ready - August 25, 2019
4. No work during the start of the school year - 28 and 29 August 2019
5. Central courtyard surfaces must be ready - September 30, 2019
6. Outdoor exits in the central courtyard must comply with the CCQ - September 30, 2019
7. Doors / windows must be installed - November 29, 2019
8. Landscaping (plantations, modules, furniture) must be carried out - November 29, 2019
9. Acceptance with reservation of the 2019 phase (end of the 2019 works) - 29 November 2019
2020 - SOUTH COURTYARD:
1. Start of work - June 23, 2020
2. South courtyard surfaces must be ready - August 21, 2020
3. The outcome of the north courtyard must be in accordance with the CCQ - August 23, 2020
4. Landscaping (plantations, modules, furniture) must be completed - October 16, 2020
5. The reception with reserve of the 2020 phase (end of the 2020 works) - October 16, 2020

Value: $2,000,000 to $2,499,999
No further details on the estimated value of the total or partial contract will be provided. This value has been estimated to the best of our knowledge, but it remains approximate and should not be considered as a commitment of the CSDM. It is only used to allow the bidder to assess its ability to carry out the mandate if CSDM decides to use its services. The estimate may be modified during the tender process without notice or adjustment and such variations will not affect the price submitted.
Bid bond:
All bids must be accompanied by a bid security representing 10% of the total cost of the bid, including applicable taxes in favour of the school board. This bid security must be submitted in one of the following forms:
- A certified cheque;
- An irrevocable letter of guarantee issued by a financial institution valid for a period of 45 days following the bid opening date;
- A bid bond issued by a financial institution that is an insurer licensed under the Insurance Act.
As bid security, only the bond and the irrevocable letter of guarantee are accepted when submitting a bid electronically. No other form of warranty is accepted with this mode of transmission. If the bidder wishes to send a certified cheque for the bid security, the bid must be submitted in paper format.

The CSDM will receive bids for the corresponding call for tenders before 2 p.m. on the opening date indicated. Each paper-based submission must be delivered sealed in an identified envelope of the return label included in the tender or by any exact reproduction of its contents, as well as the name and address of the bidder in the upper left corner. Electronic submissions can only be made through the SEAO.
It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to ensure that documents are filed at 3737 Sherbrooke Street East, 1st Floor North, Montreal, Quebec, H1X 3B3 on the date and time specified in this call for tenders and delivered by hand to the Supply Office. Our business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Anyone wishing to attend the opening of the bids must present themselves at the address listed in this notice on the deadline date and time.
