Launched in 1999 as the first business unit of Alibaba Group, Alibaba.com. It is a matching platform connecting buyers and suppliers. It also has a “request for a quotation” service where buyers place over 300,000 requests for quotes from suppliers every day.
It covers all aspects of ecommerce, including providing businesses with tools that help reach a global audience for your products. The platform provides free auto-translation into 19 languages to further ease global trade.
Companies applying should be manufacturers/suppliers of Agricultural products, Beauty & Personal Care, Fabric and textiles, Fashion & accessories, Food & Drink, Furniture, Machinery & Fabrication Services or Vehicles & Accessories.
The seller and buyer agree a sale directly and not via the platform so no seller fees are applicable. Alibaba.com is a subscription service starting at $3,999 which includes $1,000 of marketing spend. Enhanced levels are available for a higher fee. Alibaba.com also have marketing partners which can help set up your presence on the platform.
Applicants should have a minimum turnover in excess of £500,000.
