Description

The Ministry of Public Education is looking to make large scale public education reforms to:

- bring about changes in the sector
- modernise approaches and methodologies
- link education standards to good international practices

In partnership with the British Council, it wants consultancy to support English language curriculum development in public education

It also wants to deliver and develop.

- a national English curriculum team that that can bring about changes in public education curriculum
- a national English curriculum delivery strategy with the principles, processes and phases
- a draft structure of the new English language curriculum, to be presented to the Ministry in April 2021

You should be able to:

- undertake initial desk research into curriculum reform work in the last 4 years, engage with key stakeholders and analyse baseline data
- engage with stakeholders in English curriculum reform and in collaboration with the British Council and the Ministry of Public Education to establish a national English curriculum team, discussion and peer review sessions
- work with the British Council to agree the project stakeholder engagement and communications strategy
- develop the new national English curriculum delivery strategy giving important principles, processes and phases as well as draft structure of the new English curriculum for public education, this will be presented to the Ministry in April 2021
- start developing a national English curriculum reform network to support the British Council’s ‘Future English’ programme
- propose next steps for future collaboration

These items are likely to be delivered online, because of Covid-19 situation.

The consultancy will be expected to provide a:

- short baseline report summarising last 4 years of education reform in English in Uzbekistan
- national English curriculum reform team established and confident to engage in national English curriculum reform in order to drive changes in public education in a coordinated manner
- national English language curriculum delivery strategy
- draft English language curriculum structure outlining the important elements of the new curriculum for public school education to be presented to the Ministry in April 2021
- written report on the consultancy with findings and recommendations including short-term and long-term priorities and action

The consultancy is wanted from 25 January 2021, until 30 March 2021.
