Description

The National Measurement Institute (NMI) requires database development and management services with respect to the ongoing maintenance of NMI’s specialised database systems and to their ongoing improvement.
Part of the work involves maintaining and troubleshooting the Australian Forensic Drug Laboratory’s illicit drug database. This FilemakerPro database contains all information on the analysis of the illicit drugs received by NMI and of their sophisticated chemical profiling which involves data from over 20 different chemical signatures. It contains more than 200,000 entries currently and the appropriate management of this data is crucial. The database coordinates all of this information and enables the statistical analysis of this huge data set.
The successful supplier will also be responsible for the further development of the other specialised database systems within the Chemical Reference Materials laboratory. Additionally, the successful supplier will be responsible for the databases NMI maintains for its sales and for generating business analysis reports that look at trends across different sectors, clients etc.
