A top athlete wants to be able to make his sports dreams come true. That is why the Flemish government has entrusted the management of the top sports policy in Flanders to Sport Flanders: the principle of one Flemish counter for top sports, as stipulated in the coalition agreement, makes it easier and above all more efficient for top athletes to make optimal use of all their development opportunities and to realise their ambitions. The Flemish top sports policy is coordinated from the department of top sports centralized in the headquarters in Brussels. The department consists of a head of department and about 10 employees, each with his own specialization. In order to support the department, the Topsport department is looking for three domain experts. This assignment is written out in three lots. We are looking for a specific 'domain expert career guidance top sport and study', a 'domain expert technology and innovation within top sport and science' and a 'domain expert training top sport'.
The domain expert career guidance top sport and study is responsible for the individual guidance of top athletes / students in function of managing their dual careers as top athletes and students. He offers them support in achieving the best sporting results on the one hand and realising an optimal study career on the other hand. In addition, he provides policy input based on his practical expertise and is responsible for informing and raising awareness on the theme of top-class sport and study. The contracting authority is looking for a domain expert in technology and innovation within top sport and science to give the top sport federations professional advice or guidance, to provide them with a solution or maximum support in finding a suitable answer to their need or question.The domain expert technology and innovation within top sport and science should support the top sport federations in their search for specific technologies with which a top athlete can be better guided and/or followed up (hardware/software/materials/sensors/analyses,...) The domain expert will not only develop generic solutions but will also translate the technology within certain sports to other sports and even try to translate technologies from outside the sports world in function of a better top sport operation. In addition, the domain expert will help technology and innovation within top sport and science together with the top sport federations to detect and name the needs of the field in order to formulate proposals to facilitate their operation. Finally, the domain expert will advise the top sport federations on the development of top sport infrastructure, more specifically in the construction of a sports science setting. For this reason, a domain expert will be appointed to support training initiatives for the "in service" top sport trainers and top sport managers from a central training vision, in close collaboration with the Flemish Trainers' School and where possible in maximum synergy with other supporting partners (BOIC, VSF, [...]). In doing so, the domain expert works both demand-driven and proactively. He is responsible for the development of training initiatives at different levels (e.g. individual coaching, training programmes, information sessions, [...]) as well as for the creation of a support base for the services. In addition, the domain expert provides input for the policy in this area, based on his own expertise and taking trends into account. Moreover, the domain expert training top-class sports can be deployed to assist the top-class sports team of Sport Vlaanderen as well as the top-class sports federations, om op in order to contribute to the top performances of our top-class athletes.
