Consulting and Support for Project Acquisition on EU Level to Promote Open Source Design Flow Activities of IHP / IHP-2024-035Introduction:IHP GmbH is developing an openPDK for the SiGe BiCMOS technology SG13G2 with the aim of improving access to this high-end technology. The development is supported by external projects. This initiative is central to supporting chip design education across Germany and Europe, aligning with the European Union's vision for open academic R&D access and open publishing, as underscored by the recently published EU Chip Act.Scope:The contractor will be responsible for developing a comprehensive concept to advance IHP "s open source PDK and open hardware initiative, with a particular focus on analog design flow for high-frequency applications at the device, ASIC, and hetero-integration levels.Expected Results:1. Project Concept Development:- Within the first two months, develop a general project concept using available internal materials and outcomes of previous evaluations and discussions with potential partners. This should culminate in a detailed presentation outlining the overview and concept.2. Research and Evaluation:- Conduct thorough research and evaluation of corresponding calls for proposals at the EU level.- Identify potential partners and develop a concept for a joint application, coordinating with identified project partners. Engagements may include hybrid discussion rounds, seminars, and conferences at the European level or with the EU Commission.3. Project Proposal Preparation:- By the end of the project duration, formulate a complete concept for a project proposal, ready for submission at the EU/EC level.4. Engagement and Coordination:- Organize at least one pre-proposal meeting per month at IHP or conduct a working visit to a selected project partner in Europe. All dates and agendas must be coordinated with IHP.Assignment Timeline:The project is expected to be completed within 7 months, with approximately 50 hours of work per month for 6 months. Travel expenses will be covered by IHP.Preconditions for Applicants:- Demonstrable experience in European projects.- Deep technical knowledge in silicon-based semiconductor devices and open PDK developments.- Official documentation supporting the applicant's knowledge and experience in the relevant fields.Proposal Submission Requirements:Interested applicants are requested to submit proposals including:1. Company Profile: Overview of the company's expertise and experience in European projects and open PDK developments.2. Technical Proposal: Detailed approach to developing the project concept, research and evaluation processes, partner identification, and proposal preparation.3. Financial Proposal: A detailed budget breakdown, including monthly rates and any additional anticipated costs.4. References: Examples of previous projects with similar scope, including contacts for reference checks.
