Description

The government of Jamaica is undertaking a project aimed at increasing the country's resilience to climate change.

The unit carrying out the project is looking for a consultancy firm to conduct an impact assessment in the Upper Rio-Minho Sub-Watershed.

This is the main implementation site of the relevant project activities.

This impact assessment will be guided by the design of the baseline assessment (Pre-Impact Assessment) which was done in 2018.

You will:
a) be guided by the baseline indicators used in the Baseline Assessment (Pre-Impact Evaluation) that measures changes in the communities, to design a post-impact household survey instrument
b) undertake household surveys, in order to measure changes in the communities, including control communities:
- vulnerability of households to natural hazards, including soil erosion and landslides
- capacity of households for sustainable and integrated land management
- food security of households
- crop income of households
c) determine whether there are any significant differences between Target and Control Communities for the validated baseline indicators established
d) determine the factors that can analytically explain significant differences, if any, between target and control communities for the indicators established
e) identify factors that can explain or account for variations in the indicators between groups of households within the target community
f) establish whether the significant differences between target and control communities for the validated indicators – if any – could be attributed to adaptation measures, particularly for soil and water conservation
