Description

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine requires the services of a consultancy firm with expertise in civil and marine engineering to prepare the Detailed Design, Tender Action, Evaluation & Award, Construction and Handover of Works Stages for the Deep Water Quay Development Project at Rossaveel Fishery Harbour Centre, Co. Galway.

The new Quay will provide 200m of outside berthing frontage which, along with associated dredging works, will make Rossaveel Harbour a viable location for increased fish landings, particularly by larger Irish and foreign vessels. To facilitate berthing by these vessels, a 30m wide x 200m long pocket, directly adjacent to the quay, will be dredged to a depth of -10m Chart Datum. In addition, a vessel approach corridor of approximately 600m length and a vessel turning circle of 150m diameter will be dredged to a depth of -7m m Chart Datum. The material that is required to be dredged will be predominantly rock. A reclamation area will also be constructed directly behind the quay which will link to the existing onshore components of Rossaveel Fishery Harbour Centre.
