Description

Chemical scrubbers for the treatment of exhaust air from solar thermal drying: The odour and ammonia-laden exhaust air from the drying of sewage sludge is to be extracted and fed to an exhaust air purification system. A biofilter according to VDI guideline 3477 with an upstream conditioning stage in the form of an air washer is used as an exhaust air purification plant. This is to be constructed on the basis of VDI Guideline 3679: Wet-working separators, in particular VDI 3679 - Sheet 2: Wet separators, exhaust gas cleaning by absorption and VDI 3679 Sheet 3: Wet separator droplet separators.The scrubber has the tasks ofa) to remove the ammonia from the exhaust air by means of acidic scrubbing andb) to humidify the exhaust air from the sewage sludge drying hall so that odorous substances can be broken down in the downstream biofilter.
