Description
System for the transmission of electrical energy between an offshore wind farm and a grid connection point on land. With the BorWin6 project, the client is planning a direct current connection in the North Sea Cluster 7. The three-phase current generated in the wind farm is to be converted into direct current on the BorWin kappa offshore converter platform and transported with an HVDC cable to the BUTL grid connection point near Büttel. The supply and installation of the HVDC cable is the subject of a separate invitation to tender: At the BUTL site near Büttel, the contractor commissioned in the context of this invitation to tender is to build a converter station and a transformer station to convert the direct current back into three-phase current and feed the electricity generated in the wind farm into the extra-high voltage grid.
With the BorWin6 project, the client is planning a direct current connection in the North Sea Cluster 7. The three-phase current generated in the wind farm, auctioned in 2022, is to be converted into direct current on the offshore converter platform BorWin kappa and transported to the mainland to Büsum via an approx. 189 kilometre long submarine cable. From there, the electricity will be transported via an approx. 46 kilometre long underground cable to the grid connection point BUTL, near Büttel. The supply and installation of the HVDC cable is the subject of a separate invitation to tender.at the BUTL site near Büttel, the contractor commissioned within the scope of this invitation to tender is to construct a converter station and a transformer station to convert the direct current back into three-phase current and to feed the electricity generated in the wind farm into the extra-high voltage grid.this invitation to tender concerns the construction of the above-mentioned converter stations offshore and onshore, including design, manufacture, installation and commissioning.
