SUMMARY OF THE CALL FOR TENDERS
The Commission scolaire Marie-Victorin, owner, is requesting tenders for the construction of an elementary school in the Vauquelin sector of Longueuil. A site visit is planned at the site access located on Roberval Boulevard East, in Longueuil, between addresses 1252 and 1300 (see the plan in the architectural specifications).
Bids must be accompanied by a bid security, which must be ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, in the form of a certified cheque, draft, irrevocable letter of guarantee or bond. The bid bond must be issued by a Financial Institution that is an insurer holding a licence issued in accordance with the Insurance Act (R.S.Q., c. A-32) authorizing it to practice surety insurance, a trust company holding a licence issued under the Act respecting trust companies and savings companies (R.S.Q., c. S-29.01), a financial services cooperative governed by the Act respecting financial services cooperatives (R.S.Q., c. C-67.3) or a bank within the meaning of the Bank Act (S.C., 1991, c. 46).
Where the bid security is in the form of a bond, it must be accompanied by a letter of commitment issued by the issuer of the bond stating that a performance bond and a bond for pledges, materials and services will be granted to the successful bidder.
Where guarantees are in the form of a bond, the amount of each guarantee shall be fifty percent (50%) of the contract price.
When the security is in the form of a certified cheque or draft, the bid security must be issued to the School Board. This bid security may be exchanged at the time of contract signing for a performance bond and a bond for pledges, materials and services, the amount of each of which corresponds to fifty percent (50%) of the contract price.
The Commission scolaire Marie-Victorin does not undertake to accept any of the bids received.
