Italy - Construction, foundation and surface work for motorways and roads

Description

The work, called "New Turin-Lyon line - Italian-French common part - Lot 1 - New junction of La Maddalena", is located in the area of La Maddalena, in the Municipality of Chiomonte, the area is already affected by the route of the A32 Turin-Bardonecchia motorway and specifically by the Clarea viaduct, a work that connects the Giaglione tunnel (to the east) with the Ramat tunnel (to the west). The Maddalena exploratory tunnel is planned to be built on the side of the valley north-west of the motorway, to the right orographic of the Rio Clarea route. It will provide future underground safety access to the railway line and will also provide access to the excavation materials for the base tunnel for high-speed rail works, the construction site for which is currently located below the deck. The new La Maddalena junction has the connotation of "junction during the construction phase" and has the function of allowing the transit of work vehicles for the transport of materials extracted from the excavation of the base tunnel of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, in France, at Susa/Bussoleno in Italy and, with the construction site closed, to allow access to the ventilation unit of the railway line. The final design of the junction has received the approval of the CIPE (resolution of 20.2.2015) in its characterization, of the junction site. At the end of the works, there will be the possibility to open the junction to ordinary traffic, confirming definitively its presence as a pertinent operation of the motorway A32. Total amount based on tender 64 353 607.21 EUR (excluding VAT) of which security charges (included in the total amount) 1 752 418.62 EUR not subject to auction discount. The contract is partly compensated to the extent of EUR 2 499 497.87 and partly to the extent of EUR 60 101 690.72.
