Description

The municipality of Striegistal as concession provider intends to award a concession for the construction and operation of a sustainable, future-oriented and high-performance broadband network (NGA network) and the provision of retail services in the project area and to lease the passive network infrastructure still to be built to the concessionaire in order to supply all citizens, tradesmen, companies, public institutions and educational institutions in the project area with broadband telecommunications services.The tender covers subareas classified as so-called white NGA spots, i.e. areas in which a download rate of at least 30 Mbit/s is currently not available and is not expected within the next 3 years. The municipality of Striegistal is pursuing the objective of achieving nationwide Next-Generation Access (NGA) broadband coverage in the entire expansion area in accordance with the funding conditions. The aim is to achieve nationwide coverage of broadband Internet connections and corresponding services with data transmission rates of at least 1 Gbit/s downstream and 1 Gbit/s upstream for all subscribers in the expansion areas. Upon completion of the NGA network, all subscribers existing in the development area (in particular households, companies, public institutions, educational institutions, etc.) must be reliably connected to the NGA network and reliably supplied with at least 1 Gbit/s downstream and at least 1 Gbit/s upstream.
