Description

Procurement and implementation of a software solution for data, documents and imaging procedures, telemedical networking as well as remote control of modalities for Kliniken Region Hannover.
Klinikum Region Hannover GmbH (KRH), headquartered in Hannover, is a municipal hospital association in the Hannover region. The group was formed by the merger of the district hospitals of the former county of Hanover and the municipal hospitals of the city of Hanover. The hospital group with 3,400 beds and about 8,500 employees treats about 135,000 inpatients and 160,000 outpatients annually. The hospital group, which is owned by the Hanover region, is thus one of the largest municipal hospital companies in Germany. With a market share of around 40%, the company is the largest provider of healthcare services in the Hannover Region. In addition to basic and standard care, the hospitals offer specialized maximum care with supraregional significance in many medical specialties. The KRH hospitals cooperate closely with each other in medical centers and networks. Patients can thus benefit from the specialist expertise and capabilities of the entire hospital group. The hospital group includes the following hospitals:- KRH Klinikum Nordstadt, Hannover-Nordstadt (408 beds)- KRH Klinikum Siloah, Hannover-Linden-Süd (564 beds)- KRH Klinikum Robert Koch Gehrden, Gehrden (358 beds)- KRH Klinikum Großburgwedel, Großburgwedel (223 beds)- KRH Klinikum Agnes Karl Laatzen, Laatzen (246 beds)- KRH Klinikum Lehrte, Lehrte (158 beds)- KRH Klinikum Neustadt am Rübenberge, Neustadt am Rübenberge (272 beds)- KRH Psychiatry Wunstorf, Wunstorf (400 beds, of which 354 psychiatry, of which 30 child and adolescent psychiatry, of which 94 partial inpatient)- KRH Psychiatry Langenhagen, Langenhagen (202 beds, of which 50 partial inpatient)- KRH Geriatrics Langenhagen, Langenhagen (84 beds, additionally 14 places in the day clinic)Telemedicine applications generally pursue the goal of improving patient care, e. g., in rural areas or areas with a high number of patients. e.g. in rural areas or areas with a low or insufficient number of medical professionals. This project aims to improve the supra-regional telemedical networking of the Hannover region and to make a significant contribution with the virtual network of the KRH MRT sites. A remote connection of the KRH MRT secondary locations to the core hospitals enables a future-oriented, efficient and localized care in the area. This means that services can be provided in line with demand, even at times when no specialized personnel are available locally. In addition, the networking of the sites also provides a platform for optional supraregional intersectoral networking. The telemedical networking of the MRI sites provides comprehensive support for local radiological staff, right through to remote control of the imaging system during the scanning process by a central MRI specialist. The physical location of the MRI specialists in the network is independent of the location of the MRI system. Existing on-site medical personnel continue to care for patients on the system, while the specialized MRI personnel care for remote device operation. This ensures the availability of expert knowledge at the points where it is needed - whether in the event of staff shortages, overload or on-call times. The innovative telemedical networking of MRI sites, with the use of digital capabilities, offers many opportunities to increase quality and efficiency:- Creation of personnel efficiencies through virtual setting at the secondary sites and the supra-regional partners- Reduction of capacity bottlenecks and optimization of diagnostic services for a fast clinical therapy workflow- Expansion of central competence centers in diagnosis, whose expertise is available at all telemedical sites and ensures safe supra-regional care- Employee satisfaction through flexibilization of work locations and adaptation to employees' living conditions (different locations, Harmonization of equipment and fleet concepts for process standardization, quality assurance and flexible staff deployment in the event of bottlenecks- Reduction of transport costs between KRH sites and supraregional partners for special examinations- Improvement of outpatient and inpatient intersectoral integration: Integration of outpatient service providers with transformation to a local health center- Virtual diagnostics network as a lighthouse project and model example in the regionIn further steps, the Kliniken Region Hannover can be supported by further innovative and demand-oriented service solutions through virtual networking with remote control sectional imaging in radiology:- Provision of personnel for remote control sectional imaging for the provision of further operating capacities- Diagnostic platform for the provision of radiological diagnostic capacitiesThe basis for this is the interoperable usability of data, documents and images and the consistent use of interoperable standards, which the systems currently established at KRH do not support or only support to a minor extent. In order to achieve all of the above goals and to establish the above services on an intersectoral level, the KRH would like to procure a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) for images, videos and documents, including PACS reporting, coverage of cardiology, a clinic-wide universal viewer, remote control of modalities (remote MRT), as well as teleradiology services and connections, and implement them interoperably with a reliable service provider and partner.Components:- Enterprise PACS incl. VNA- Clinical archive- Clinic-wide universal viewer- Remote control of modalities (remote MRT)/Teleradiology- Cardiological information system- Integration / interfaces / connections modalities- Implementation- Migration of existing data and objects- Commissioning- Project management- Training- System services
