China - China – Free Trade Zone centre requests UK home appliances

This request is from a local strategic partner of CBBC, which is offering free service to present and sell UK brands in the southern China market via the Fujian Free Trade Zone.

To promote cross-border trading, the local government has set up a foreign products centre in its Free Trade Zone which is scheduled to finish by April 2016. It will then be open to overseas brands that are interested in trying to tap into the Chinese market.

As part of the cooperation between CBBC and the local association, UK company’s can present their products in the centre, the local organisation will organise local agents, distributors, consumers and shopping malls to go and visit the UK pavilion regularly. Then the local agents and distributors can contact the UK company if they are interested in the products, and consumers can buy directly with a duty-free price.

It is a free of charge opportunity for UK companies to show and sell products within the UK pavilion. The UK companies can promote the products there for the required time period and still decide whether it wishes to fully enter the Chinese market with further assistance or not. In addition, the UK company will need to send the products to the Free Trade Zone.

This specific opportunity is targeting UK suppliers of high quality, reliable home appliances. Some example appliances may include; washing machines, tumble driers, vacuums, ironing equipment and radiators. There are many more Free Trade opportunities available.
