Description
The Centre de services scolaires Harricana is planning to build a new school on a greenfield site in the village of La Motte. The 1101 m 2 school will include 3 classrooms, a large multi-purpose room and a 210 m 2 gymnasium. The entire structure will be built on a slab-on-grade with a steel frame. The gymnasium will be fitted with exposed timber girts. The roofs will be pitched with two gables. The exterior finish will be brick. The school will be ventilated, air-conditioned and heated by heat pumps. Electric baseboard heaters at the bottom of the windows will complete the heating system. All lighting will be LED with timer control. The school will be equipped with access control, cameras, an intercom, an intruder alarm system and a distributed control system for remote control of several parameters. It's a country school, so the water will come from a new well already drilled. The drinking water treatment system is included in the project, however. Also included in the project will be a wastewater treatment system. A landscape architect has defined all exterior landscaping. Note that the only asphalt surface on the project will be for the basketball court; everything else, including the access road, will be finished in stone dust. A fence will be installed around the perimeter of the facilities. Note that demolition of the old school is not included in the current contract.
