Description

The City of Tallahassee is seeking a qualified contractor interested in providing Construction, Commissioning and Start-up Services for the BNR Blower System Replacement at the Thomas P. Smith Water Reclamation Facility, located at 4505 Springhill Rd., Tallahassee, FL, as outlined in these bidding documents. Work to be performed under the resulting contract generally includes all labor, equipment and materials required to deliver a complete, operable system. The project includes replacing, testing, and startup of two new single stage integral gear blowers and upgrading the process mechanical system, electrical, structural, HVAC, and I&C systems of the aeration blower system and electrical equipment in Blower Building No.1. The specific areas of work include, but are not limited to the items listed below, along with associated piping, valves, support systems and appurtenances, structural, painting, electrical, instrumentation, tie-ins to existing systems, and testing.

Demolition of existing multistage centrifugal blowers assemblies, including blowers, heat exchangers, control panels, piping, valving, instruments.
Demolition of existing concrete slab and pads for centrifugal blower assemblies.
Demolition of all electrical equipment within the electrical room of Blower Building No.1.
Demolition of abandoned compressed air system in Blower Building No. 1.
Demolition of existing instrumentation and surge control panels associated with the three Hoffmann Multistage blowers.
Maintain plant operations throughout construction as specified.
Installation of two new single stage integral gear blowers, and associated piping, valves, and appurtenances; control panels and instrumentation.
Construction of new slab and concrete pads for new blower assemblies.
Installation of new mechanical equipment on concrete pads.
Replacement of all electrical equipment within electrical room in Blower Building No.1 and associated wiring between panels, MCCs, instruments and equipment.
Improvements to Blower Building No.1: concrete repairs, recoating the building interior, new HVAC system, new lightning protection and lighting improvements.
Integration of new equipment into Plant’s SCADA System.
