The approx. 28,731m² site is located in Hamburg-Meiendorf, in the Rahlstedt district, on Meiendorfer Strasse on the border with Schleswig-Holstein. The plot is free of any buildings and has been zoned as an industrial estate since 2007. A 110 and 380 kV overhead power line runs across the property. To the north, south and west along the property boundary there are trees, shrubs and bends to be preserved, as well as designated areas for surface drainage, which spatially delimit the construction site.
A new bus depot for battery buses is to be built to optimize operations, expand parking capacities and create the structural conditions for future drive and workshop concepts. This is divided into the areas of covered bus parking for approx. 130 buses including the necessary technical areas for the charging infrastructure, an administration building with 5 connected workshop lanes for bus maintenance, a supply hall for bus care, testing and maintenance, a parking pallet, as well as a network station with medium-voltage connection and the traffic areas including all drainage structures and necessary line connections for all other media and a noise protection wall.

The bus depot is accessed from the Meiendorfer Straße cul-de-sac (former B75) at house number 207.

The existing access road there will be extended as part of the overall measures.
