Bangladesh - Bangladesh - Railway link feasibility study

Description

A state owned railway authority in Bangladesh has invited EOI for the selection of consultants to construct a dual gauge railway link.

The following surveys and studies will be needed:

- hydrological and morphological study
- hydrographic survey
- soil investigation along the alignment
- selection of suitable type of bridge
- traffic survey along proposed alignment of the railway link
- economic and financial analysis for the project.
- social impact assessment and analysis according to the Bangladesh government's guidelines
- preparation of Land Acquisition Plan (LAP)
- environment Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environment Management Plan

The following engineering design will be required:

- soil investigation along the alignment
- seismic safety of all the structures including design of embankment, railway track, bridge, viaduct, stations and yards, signaling and telecom and other facilities along with electrical design
- analysis of the main bridges (Halda bridge), viaducts and other structures where applicable
- preparation of cost estimates for the proposed project, showing foreign exchange, local currency, tax and duty elements etc as per standard practice
- preparation of PQ and tender document and tendering service
- preparation of construction work plan
- preparation of terms of reference for construction supervision consultancy services

The consulting firm must have adequate physical resources such as office, working equipment, testing facilities, IT facility, survey equipment, logistical support etc.
