Description

BC Parks is inviting submissions from qualified proponents to construct an 1,100 metre, Green-Square adaptive mountain bike (aMTB) trail in Alice Lake Park. This trail will connect from the Alice Lake campground to the ‘Bob MacIntosh Memorial Trail’ just outside of the park’s boundary. Approximately 200m of the trail will be outside of the park, pending field fitting.BC Parks has completed the layout of the trail and will provide guidelines for the construction based on Kootenay Adaptive Sport Association, Green-Square aMTB rating. The successful proponent will be responsible for: Danger tree assessment and tree removal along the entire trail Constructing the 1,100m trail using the provided standards and pin-flagged route as the trail’s centreline (field fitting is anticipated) Constructing and installing two clear span bridges (18’x5’ and 24’x5’) Constructing and installing one 164’x5’ boardwalk Adhering to environmental requirements Naturalizing the project site following completion of construction Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
