A conceptual revision of the wastewater network in the Berlin suburb is planned due to hydraulic problems in the rainwater and wastewater network. A study is to be prepared that combines a redevelopment plan with a stormwater concept and assesses the feasibility of stormwater management in the individual streets with a focus on infiltration, retention and treatment.The aim of the study is a conceptual revision of the Berliner Vorstadt's separation system, which shows hydraulic weaknesses due to insufficient gradients in the sewer network and opposing flow directions in the sewers (due to various high points in the pipe network), in order to improve the hydraulic performance. In addition, the long-term aim is to reduce the discharge of rainwater from the catchment area, which is to be achieved in particular by infiltrating the rainwater (private and public) close to the site. To this end, the soil conditions are to be examined for infiltration capacity and the availability of land is to be taken into account. In the course of the conceptual revision, the permissible discharge quantities into the water bodies adjacent to the area under consideration must be reviewed. In addition, two discharge points (A108 and A114) are to be relocated or decommissioned, as they are located on private land, and different variants are to be developed and compared on the basis of economic, ecological and social criteria using hydraulic modeling in order to achieve the objectives.
