Description
The Université de Montréal is issuing a public call for tenders in order to sign a contract with a contractor-lot in SELECTIVE DEMOLITION for the project to reallocate space in the Roger-Gaudry and Marie-Victorin pavilions on its mountain campus (main campus), which is being carried out under construction management.
This reallocation project is part of the University's long-term development vision, set out in its Master Plan, and represents the phase following the construction of the Science Complex on the Outremont site (CSSO). The new pavilions created there - the Science Pavilion and the Teaching Pavilion and Library - have freed up space on the project site.
The project therefore involves transforming the spaces directly affected by the transfer of activities to the CSSO, namely the Roger-Gaudry (PRG - East and West) and Marie-Victorin (PMV) pavilions, in order to reassign them and use them for other purposes. The project calls for the renovation, upgrading and adaptation of these buildings, whose current configuration does not meet the functional needs of the units that will be moving in.
This reallocation of space will also provide an opportunity to implement a strategy for grouping units together in order to correct the dispersion of academic units over several sites.
The contractor-lot is informed of the following particularities concerning the Reallocation project:
The work on the Reallocation project will take place in existing buildings whose physical condition, age, obsolescence and non-compliance with the various codes and standards in force involve a high level of complexity;
The buildings present a heritage and iconic character of the mountain site as a whole that must be respected, as well as distinctive architectural features that must maintain their integrity;
The work must be carried out in such a way as to maintain the services of the buildings occupied by research, teaching and administrative functions, particularly in terms of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, fire protection, evacuation and access;
Work of varying nature and scope will be carried out by third-party contractors concurrently with the completion of the Reassignment project in the University's various pavilions;
The work of this lot consists mainly of supplying the labor, materials, equipment, materials and services required to carry out all selective demolition work as part of the redevelopment of the Roger-Gaudry West pavilion of the Université de Montréal.
For more details, please refer to the scope of work in the technical documents.
The redevelopment work in RGE and RGO involves 27,991 m² spread over 9 floors, as illustrated in the following images. The project also includes several interventions required as part of the project, but which are outside the redeveloped areas in RGE, RGO and PMV. These interventions are required for upgrades, replacement of vertical circulation, mechanical and electrical infrastructures.
