Description

The Université de Montréal issued a call for tenders to retain the services of a general contractor for construction work to be carried out at Roger-Gaudry Pavilion (511) located at its Montreal Campus.
Summary of the project and the work to be carried out
This project consists of reviewing the layout of suites G-300, G-303 and G-307 of Roger-Gaudry Hall (511) in order to create a new transfer room, sorting area, as well as reviewing the layout of the student store.

The main work included in this project is described as follows, but is not limited to the following:
DEMOLITION

Dismantling of existing furniture (tables/work surfaces/racking),
Dismantling and modification of existing furniture (shelving, shelves) and their relocation in the existing storage space.
Roughening of the concrete floor in order to compensate for any cracks and other defects.
Partial demolition of the partitions separating rooms G-300 and G-307.
Demolition of the existing vinyl flooring.
Demolition of the existing entrance (turnstile) as well as the existing store counter.
Enlargement of the existing opening(s) in the concrete block wall separating rooms G-300 and G-303 to allow the transportation of goods from corridor G-30 to the rear of the store. The minimum required dimensions must be verified with store users according to the dimensions of the carts used by the delivery personnel.
Demolition of the exterior double door and its frame.
Demolition of the existing suspended ceiling.

NEW

Modification and patching of concrete curbs with a slight slope between the existing doors and the high point of the curb (see ing). The entire concrete will be covered with a membrane.
Installation of a grating floor, made of reinforced plastic fibres. The retention pit will be able to retain approximately 1800 L in case of spillage. (see Ing)
Installation of a new counter, resistant to the weight of the containers and to chemical products.
Various patching and fireproof sealing work on walls and ceilings.
Installation of new gypsum firewalls separating the new sorting room G-307-5 from the existing storage room G-300.
Installation of new doors and frames, some of which are listed.
Installation of a new sink, as well as an eye washer (see ing).
Sealing and fireproofing work on existing or new ducts passing through the partitions (sprinklers, ventilation, etc.).
New epoxy paint flooring,
Painting work on new and existing partitions.
Electromechanical and structural work. (see engineers).
Dismantling/modification/relocation of existing furniture (shelves) according to the new layout.
Waterproofing work on the roof when passing ventilation ducts and/or the reinforcing structure through the existing deck (see ing.). All work will be guaranteed by the contractor in conjunction with the AMCQ warranty for a period of ten (10) years, including all roof components supplied and installed (materials & labour);
Modification of the entrance to the store and installation of a new counter, with storage, to accommodate the checkout and pick-up stations. The space behind the counter will be left free to accommodate book storage pallets during busy periods.
Installation of a new marmoleum floor finish.
Installation of a new exterior double door


Work schedule

The Contractor undertakes to take all necessary measures to meet the planned schedule to begin the work on or about 2021-02-03 allowing the issuance of the Final Acceptance Certificate no later than: 2021-05-28.
. Penalties for delay: $1,000.00/day.
