Description

Project and Contract Description

The Université de Montréal is issuing a call for tenders for services based on the lowest price method to obtain goods and services (supply and installation of laboratory furniture) for redevelopment work to be carried out at the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Pavilion located at its Montreal Campus.
The redevelopment work, which will be the subject of a subsequent call for tenders, is required for the relocation of biochemistry and dental laboratories to former chemistry laboratories. The work will be carried out in sequence according to the prioritization of the Université de Montréal's moves.
This call for tenders includes, but is not limited to :

Supply/manufacture and installation of steel laboratory furniture with plastic laminate counters.
Partial demolition and modification of existing laboratory furniture.
Removal of existing chemical fume hoods.
Relocation and reinstallation of existing fume hood.
Cleaning (resurfacing) of epoxy counters.
Coordination with the general contractor responsible for the execution of the project's construction work.






Term of Office

The expected service delivery period is 8 months, from November 30, 2020 to July 2, 2021.





Contract (description of goods and services)

See DSUMP-5 "Contract" for a description of the contractual terms.
A public call for tenders will be issued for the selection of a general contractor to carry out the construction work required for the Biochemistry and Dentistry Relocation Project at the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Pavilion. As soon as a contract is awarded to a general contractor, this contract will be assigned to him.
The assignment of the contract, according to the current schedule, should take place around February 1, 2021; therefore during the manufacturing period but before the installation of the laboratory furniture on the construction site.




Estimated value of goods and services

The estimated value of the contract is $750,000, before taxes.

Schedule and delivery date

The work (delivery, installation and others) will be carried out in 3 phases:

Phase 1 (1st floor): April 5 to April 30, 2021.
Phase 2 (3rd floor): May 3 to May 28, 2021.
Phase 3 (2nd and 4th floors): May 31 to July 2, 2021.


Each phase will be subject to provisional acceptance.
Exact dates for delivery, installation and other work will be established in coordination with the general contractor.





Certification and/or permits required

The steel laboratory furniture manufacturing company must specialize in laboratory furniture, have a minimum of five years experience in the field and its products must meet the standards of the Scientific Equipment & Furniture Association (SEFA). The Bidder must submit the required documentation to this effect.


Product Warranty

The products will be warranted for a period of three (3) years from the date of final acceptance of the work against defects in materials, workmanship and installation.
