Description

Niagara Region intends to prequalify respondents for contractor services for the construction of the Go Station Precinct Development Project located in the City of St. Catharines.  The limits of which are demonstrated within Appendix C - Key Plan and the objective of the work as further described within this RFSQ is for the:Complete demolition and replacement of Structure No.081215 (CNR BRIDGE) over the Canadian National Railway.Redevelopment of the existing GO/VIA Rail station site including access road to Ridley RoadReconstruction of Ridley Road from Regional Road 72 (Louth Street) to Henrietta Street.1.1.2 Objective For the purpose of this Pre-qualification, Contractors are referred to as Respondents. Respondents submitting bids in response to this request for prequalification shall demonstrate they have completed projects of a similar nature as described in Appendix A – RFSQ PARTICULARS.  Each respondent must submit all necessary and requested information as set within thisRFSQ. Niagara Region reserves the right to verify submitted information and if it is determined any of the information submitted is inaccurate or misleading, the respondent may be disqualified from the RFSQ opportunity. Incomplete information may also limit the respondent’s ability to qualify. Any Respondent previously prequalified for other works with Niagara Region must resubmit for this RFSQ process. If submitting as a team, all team members should be named. Where Respondents are submitting a Prequalification with one or more business partners, the same information should be provided for each business partner clearly identifying the ability to provide appropriate resources, either directly or through partners to perform the services described in this RFSQ.Please note, if submitting with multiple business partners, the listed Prime contractor must be the contactor that can demonstrate experience constructing a new bridge structure with a span over an active rail corridor.Note, the Region of Niagara will form a contract with the submitting firm in each Stage 2 Request for Tender Process. Roles of each party should be clearly defined for each phase of the project. Changes to business partners throughout the term of the contract should be put in writing to the Region’s Project Manager for approval by the Region.  Additional information such as references or other, may be requested on any changes submitted.  Acceptance will be at the sole discretion of the Region of Niagara.The Niagara Region intends to prequalify respondents who score 70% or higher in the evaluation.
