This Request for Proposal (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Regional Municipality of Niagara (“Niagara Region”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Dive Truck for Niagara Regional Police Services (NRPS), as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is responsible for providing underwater search and recovery services to the citizens of the Niagara Region as they relate to police investigations. In order to accomplish this the NRPS requires the construction of a suitable dive truck to replace the current truck. The completed truck platform will house the equipment required for the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) to perform the duties. The truck will also service as the mobile command post for diving operations. The USRU utilizes both SCUBA and surface supplied air equipment to perform the function of divers. This requires the truck to be designed and equipped to supply air through a high pressure compressor system for the filling of high pressure air cylinders.The intent of this request for proposal is to construct and supply a suitable truck box, including PTO and electrical power generator system to be installed on a Hino L7 chassis (supplied by the Region of Niagara). The compressor and high pressure air system to be provide by a vendor to be determined. This will require the box body builder and the compressor system vendor to coordinate final install and routing of the air supply lines and system.
