This comprised the acquisition of the assets of Pelikan Hardcopy Scotland Limited (in administration).
Zhuoli has an extremely successful business in China and saw this acquisition as an opportunity to expand into the UK market, utilising the expertise of the existing Pelikan staff and further advance the technology being used in the Scottish factories in order to increase production and spark capital growth for their business.
As this was our client’s first investment into the UK, they relied upon us heavily for all aspects of doing business in the UK. We introduced them to many others in our network to let them bring together this deal team and were also able to help them in their communications on the transaction by having the head of our China Desk and Chinese speaker, Catriona Llanwarne, meet with them in person and review legal documentation in Chinese. The deal team worked extended hours to meet tight time frames and accommodate the time differences between China and the UK.
