Working with US healthcare provider Mayo Clinic, Burges Salmon provided a collaborative legal and project consultancy solution to create a new business through a joint venture (“JV”). We integrated experienced professionals into the JV’s implementation team to assist with the development and opening of a new innovative healthcare clinic in central London. Our Real Estate lawyers negotiated a complex agreement for lease relating to the new premises at 15 Portland Place, as well as advising the JV on a number of key ancillary documents. Alongside this, we provided consultancy to help form the strategic vision, establish a route to market & recruit key personnel. Our team were able to help the client navigate the UK market and business culture successfully. The JV team had not entered into this type of arrangement previously and our approach therefore had to be both innovative and dynamic, whilst also providing a steady pair of hands.
