Project background

Future Carrington occupies a prime location in Trafford, southwest Manchester. It benefits from excellent connectivity to the motorway network and is close to both Manchester City Centre and Manchester International Airport. The significant transport infrastructure proposed will further drive local, regional, national and international connectivity.

The scale and location of the Future Carrington site means it can support major inward investment and provide significant economic and housing growth, delivering up to 745,000 square metres of employment floor space and 11,500 new homes. Once completed, it is anticipated Future Carrington will provide over 14,000 new jobs and contribute an additional 720 million GBP Gross Value Added per annum. Phase 1 of the project, comprising 725 houses and 93,000 square metres (1 million square feet) of industrial floor space, already benefits from outline planning approval.

About the project
