Access to skills and talent development

Skills are central to economic growth in the UK. Its workforce is more qualified than any major economy in Europe and ranks in the top 10 globally.

The UK’s globally recognised higher education system, featuring 4 of the world’s top 10 universities, targeted further education system and business focussed apprenticeship offer creates a large, highly skilled and diverse workforce for businesses to access.

The government announced an additional £3.8 billion of investment over this Parliament to develop a skills system that is high quality and responsive to employer needs.
